Located just a 2 minute walk from the castle is the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul of Nantes. It is a Roman Catholic Gothic cathedral that took 457 years to finish.
While you’re in Nantes, you must also visit the Île de Nantes – one of the best natural features in western France. It is an island that is located by the city center and flowing around it is the Loire River. The coolest thing you will see in Nantes can be found on this island: Les Machines de l’Ile de Nantes. Jules Verne’s “Invented Worlds,” Leonardo da Vinci’s mechanical cosmos, and Nantes’ industrial past can all be found together in this special location.
