About Bordeaux

Wine country is awaiting your visit! As you may already know, Bordeaux is the most famous wine region in the world, specializing in…you guessed it…Bordeaux reds. Bordeaux’s are medium- to full-bodied with bold aromas of black currant, plums and an earthiness. They can be divided into two areas: the Right Bank (Saint-Emilion, Blaye) and those from the Left Bank (Médoc, Graves). Both areas are worth a visit if you are a wine lover! Coming from Paris? Or want to visit Paris during your stay in Bordeaux. The LGV high-speed train will take you to Paris in just two hours.

There are so many incredible things to do and see in Bordeaux. It is definitely a city that is worth a visit. On Sunday morning, shop at Marché des Chartrons, along the river, like the locals do, and be sure to stop by the covered Marché des Capucins (closed Mondays). Saint-Pierre, the ancient center of the city, also known as le Vieux Bordeaux or old Bordeaux, is made up of a network of winding cobblestone streets and lovely squares. The neighborhood frequently serves as a film location, and some of the structures date back to the Middle Ages. Additionally, there are numerous restaurants and bars and a vibrant nightlife here. The Chartrons neighborhood was once a wine-merchants district and is definitely worth a visit. You will feel like you are in a small village within the city.

Interested in sports? Bordeaux loves soccer (football) and rugby. To see the Girondins de Bordeaux, the football team, head to Stade Matmut-Atlantique. Moreover, you can catch the Union Bordeaux Bègles, the rugby team at Stade Chaban-Delmas.
