    About Cannes France

Ahh the sandy city of Cannes… The European capital of cinema, and home to many world renown festivals. Located about 30 km West of Nice, the city is easily accessible by train or bus, however, if you’re coming from Nice, we would recommend to use the train, as it is the much faster option.

Having only about 80 000 inhabitants, Cannes isn’t the biggest, oldest nor the most densely populated city on the French Riviera. However, it gained its popularity by hosting the prestigious International Film Festival, where movies from all around the world compete for the Palme d’Or in several categories.

With the Palais des Festivals, built for the Cannes Film Festival, decorating the Promenade de la Croisette, the city has a few interesting places you should visit. Those include the Promenade itself, the Old Town, the Port and Rue d’Antibes. To help you fully understand what awaits you in these areas, find the Cannes Map discussing all of them and more.

Although the city of cinema has a few gems to offer, we absolutely recommend you spend some time visiting one of the Lerins Islands. After mere 15 mins of ferry ride, you will be able to explore the beautiful nature of Isle Ste. Marguerite. This island is famous for its mesmerizing nature, crystal clear water and a fortress, where the Man in the Iron Mask was held and at the end also died during the reign of Louis XIV. To visit the St. Honorat island you will have to take a different ferry, again from the port of Cannes. This one will take you to an island occupied and run by Benedictine monks. Their monastery is known for its wide range of wines they make right on the island and other locally made products.

At the end of the day, the best way to explore such an amazing place as Cannes, is to take a tour with a knowledgeable and fun guide that will make sure you get the most out of your trip. Check out what we have to offer!
