What people are saying about Cadiz
Beutiful scenery and lovely white villages, especially the small ones.
Our driver Rafa was very careful and safety conscious. He negotiated very difficult roads with ease. I felt very safe with him at the wheel. At times, I had difficulty following the commentary because of our guides accent, but that is not meant as a criticism of him. He conveyed lots of information and was very enthusiastic about providing and enjoyable experience for everyone. I thought the tour would be on a smaller vehicle, rather than a tourist coach. Things were a little disorganised when we first arrived in Ronda, but this May have been attributable to some passengers not following instructions. We had a good lunch at Grazalema where you could choose what you wanted for lunch ( at your own expense). I am glad that I did the tour and got to see the white villages. In my opinion, the smaller ones we visited first, were more appealing than Ronda which is a much larger and busier tourist centre.
Trip exceeded my expectations, and not only due to Ronda
While Ronda was supposed to be the highlight, this tour turned out to be so much more. The two "white villages" (I don't feel Ronda quite qualified as one) were very attractive and unexpectedly pleasant surprises - charming, secluded, delightfully preserved in time. The first stop at the ruins of a castle/fort had the entire group scrambling up old stone walls like kids, and was a lot of fun! Our guide Reyes was fantastic, very detailed in the narratives/history, even in 2-3 languages, high energy and wonderful personality! Thank you so much for a lovely day!!
Choose to take your luggage and stay in Ronda.
We opted to stay over in Ronda rather than go back to Sevilla which was one of the best decisions of our trip to Spain and one of the options with this trip which allows you to bring your luggage along. From Ronda we went on to Granada but would rdther have stayed an extra night in Ronda which is suc an amazing place and nice and quiet after the day trippers go home. Great guide on the trip through the pueblos blancos.
Learned a lot about Sherry, will definitely drink it more often
Sherry is not what Granny used to drink, it is so much better. Very informative and friendly guide explained the processes used very well. Generous tasting afterwards. Highly recommend to anyone in Cadiz area, only 30 minutes away with easy parking. Town also good for authentic shopping and food.
This has to be the best bodega visit in El Puerto de Santa Maria
The heady aroma assails the senses and in excellent English our guide shared the history of sherry making with knowledge and passion. The much anticipated tasting does not disappoint, laid out ready for us in the delightful dining area. Sherry for breakfast: we’ll be back with our friends!
